Restart

Time to restart blogging after 3 years of neglect. Too many things happening here, there, and everywhere, to be ignored. I have added only the most important people to receive notification of new additions to my blog and if you want to be taken off the list, all you have to do is ask.

2011 is off to an exciting start with the fall of the Algerian and Egyptian dictatorships, the "in process" fall of Qadafi, the potential fall of the dictators in Baharain and Yemen, and who know who's next? We can only hope that this true demonstration of real "people power" will serve as a theat to other actual and would-be dictators as we find in Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and other countries.

21st Century Socialism

As we approach the first year of the latest political/economic experiment in Ecuador, little has changed. Mr. Belt has defeated the "traditional" political parties (actually, they defeated themselves with corruption, selfishness, and greed) but he has done little else other than filling the vacuum with his own party (which is no different than those who went before them) and created a big smoke screen called a Constitutional Assembly. Total waste of time while Mr. Belt actually accomplishes nothing concrete.
